The Federal Trade Commision

The FTC deals with many issues that touch on the economic life of each American. It is the only federal agency offering consumer protection and competition jurisdiction to the broad sectors of our economy. The Federal Trade Commission pursues aggressive and effective law enforcement while advancing consumer interests by sharing its expertise with federal and state legislatures and U.S. and international government agencies. They develop policy and research tools through variouis hearings and conferences and we create practical and efficient educational programs for consumer level and business level individuals in a global marketplace with constantly evolving technologies. While the USPTO does not investigate all of the complaints or participate in any legal proceedings against the invention promoters/promotion firms, under the American Inventors Protection Act of 1999 , the USPTO does provide a public forum for the publication of such complaints concerning invention promoters/promotion firms. Also, in the forum, the USPTO will publish responses to the complaints from the invention promoters/promotion firms as they become available.
