Rapid prototyping (RP) is a type of prototype manufacturing technology that creates a prototype by layering thermoplastics or similar materials from the ground up similar to building a house with bricks. Rapid Prototyping can produce an exact replica of a 3d model in as little as an hour. The implications of producing a prototype spread into every field of product development including research & development, marketing and at times to manufacture production quality parts in relatively small numbers.

Scaling

Due to the volumetric limitations each prototype produced by Protomine is scaled to a maximum 5 inches on the largest dimensions.
