Rhinoceros (Rhino) is a 3-D modeling tool published by McNeel & Associates. The software is used for architecture, automotive design, industrial design, marine design, jewelry design, CAD/CAM reverse engineering, rapid prototyping and multimedia and graphic design industries.
Rhino is a specialized software utilizing free-form Nurbs modeling. The software is praised for it's revolutionary plug-ins including Flamingo (raytrace rendering), Penguin (non-photorealistic rendering), and Bongo (animation).
Rhino's popularity is based on its diverse, multi-disciplinary functions, relatively low cost, and ability to import and export an extensive list of file formats, allowing Rhino to act as a convertersion tool between other 3D programs.
