SolidWorks is considered a Parametric Solid Modelling software.Developed by SolidWorks Corporation (a subsidiary of Dassault Systems) was published as a competitor to CAD programs such as Pro/ENGINEER, SDRC I-DEAS, Unigraphics and CATIA. It is currently one of the most popular products on the 3D market today.
Solidworks is used primarily by engineers and designers for creating parts and assemblies. Its users range from individuals to large companies, and covers a wide sector of manufacturing market segments.
